To: sy.fdc@CU20B.ARPA cc: eiben@DEC-MARLBORO.ARPA I have a 128k Rainbow PC100A with Boot ROM 04.03.11A 1982 and use KERMIT-86 version 2.9 under CP/M-86/80 version 2.00 (1.1) 1983. I have a problem if I run KERMIT, EXIT, and then try to reboot the system by pressing SET-UP and CTRL/SET-UP. The screen flashes, says "TESTING...", then dies. The keyboard is dead - the only way to recover is to power off. The problem sometimes occurs with MS-KERMIT on the MS-DOS side, but not consistantly. It is reproducible at will by running KERMIT-86 and entering the EXIT command to KERMIT. It never happens if I press SET-UP + CTRL/SET-UP while KERMIT-86 is still running - the EXIT code kills my Rainbow. I left a message on the Rainbow Engineering FIDO (617)486-2285, other people have observed this problem too. Does KERMIT-86 mess up the Rainbow's Non-Volital RAM? Joe Smith (415)794-2512 -------
