This isn't exactly a standard build of mplayer. I included all of the codecs I could find, the gui, a skin and font, and the plugin for FireBird. On the downside, I think I may have compiled it only for a Pentium III. Please try it and post results on the VL Board. The command for the gui version is gmplayer, not mplayer. Do play around with the video output types. Xv and X11 are the standard ones. If it doesn't work because you don't have a PIII, let me know and I'll compile it different. I think you can make MPlayer do a runtime CPU detection, but it complains about not being optimal.
