Contents of README:Truchet tiling -------------- This directory contains what I wrote for the contest proposed by Denis Girou and Philippe Esperet at the GUTenberg congress on June 1 & 2, 1995. The problem is known as `Truchet tiling'. There were two parts: coloration of lines, and colorations of surfaces. Initially, the problem would have to be solved using pure PostScript or PSTricks. I prefered to use METAPOST. A survey of all the solutions will appear in a forthcoming issue of ``Les Cahiers GUTenberg''. Main files in this directory: example.mp : the METAPOST source file example.dvi : the example.mp source file formatted with `mft'. example.1 : METAPOST output (PostScript file) ... example.5 : METAPOST output (PostScript file) mproof.ps : Output #5 formatted with mproof.tex. (i.e. in writing tex 'mproof example.5') plain.mft : the style needed for the application of `mft' readme.tex : a presentation of the METAPOST techniques used (*in french*) (this file uses the `logo' fonts extended by Knuth) text.tex : test file showing the five previous figures. tiling.mp : the METAPOST macro file. tiling.dvi : the tiling.mp source formatted with `mft'.
