Begin3 Title: mirrorls Version: 1.0 Entered-date: 16OCT99 Description: FTP archives keep a daily directory listing in the file ls-lR.gz for mirrors to download. The GNU/bash script mkls-lR in this package also creates ls-lR.times containing file modification times and ls-lR.patch.gz containing the compressed daily unified difference. Instead of ls-lR.gz mirrors may download ls-lR.patch.gz which is typically only 1% of the size of ls-lR.gz. A mirror uses one of the scripts getls-lR, getls-lR.exp or getls-lR.pl to efficiently and reliably update a local copy of the archive ls-lR. The patch for Lee McLoughlin's mirror-2.9 is an alternative to running a mirror script.
