Four other useful functions of HTML OptimizerPro are: (1) Checking the so called tagged pairs, i.e. the tags that always have to appear together with their end tags. Further, IMG tags are checked for WIDTH, HEIGHT and ALT attributes. ALT attributes can be added if missing, with or without string. (2) Checking the validity of the internal links. (3) Marking dangling tags and missing attributes to find them quickly. (4) Converting special characters to the &....; notation. New in this update is an improved search function for converted special characters. HTML OptimizerPro is a PPC application and requires MacOS 7.5 or later. -- Ton Brand Ton's Software http://www.spidernet.nl/~ton_brand [Archived as /info-mac/text/html/html-optimizer-pro-172.hqx; 1057 K] ------------------------------ Date: 31 Jul 2000 From: Dave Horlick To: Subject: [*] LinkGardener 1.0 Link Gardener lets you edit and manage Internet Location files. The internal HD is no longer visible on the desktop, and at startup (startup with system CD) I'm being asked if I'd like to _FORMAT_ the internal HD! So I run Disk First Aid, and that's not of much help, even if it reports a "BTree Node dimension not valid, 4, 0" error. Unfortunately I can't repair the drive with Disk Firts Aid. I can still "see" the HD name in Disk First Aid's window, as the HD is recognized by this application. What do you suggest? Have any handy utility that can help me recover this hard disk? -- ** Arch. There is 320Mb on the system and at this time about 200Mb free ! It looks like it is happening when the clipboard is converting to EPS format. Is there a way to allocate more memory to the clipboard or another solution ? There are a couple of fonts that have dubious origins that if dragged into the system folder cause a problem on the next reboot The problem is a bomb with the message "not enough memory to load sound manager" If I then start without extensions, remove the font and restart the message returns. If I then disable the Sound manager extension , I get the same message with another extension and so on. I have tried reinstalling the system over the top, but it doesnt help. In the end I wipe the disk and reinstall and away I go until I install the font again . Can anyone kindly explain why this can be happening and advise a simpler remedy for the future Many thanks ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2000 14:20:33 +0900 From: Ruth South McCreery To: digest@info-mac.org Subject: OS9 and usb and zip I have a new G4 Mac. A few days ago I prepared a 250M Zip disk with a small version of the system so that I could boot from it to run Microsoft Office when needed for a client without having it on my hard drive and messing up my Word 5.1 settings. That worked perfectly. Yesterday I tried to do the same thing, and my Mac informed me that it cannot boot from a Zip disk. It will not let me designate the Zip disk as the startup disk. Since it did boot from it only a few days before, I assumed that the problem might be software I had installed in the meantime. That consisted of ATM light (btw, even following the instructions to use the 4.5.2 updater, I cannot get ATM Plus to work--system crashes at restart) and the updated version of ATR. Neither is giving me any problem. Nonetheless, i turned both off. No difference. The zip drive, a USB 250M drive, is plugged into a USB hub (labelled as being by Hit's Communications) along with my TA/DSU connection. Any suggestions? Ruth S.
